In the spirit of the holiday I asked all of you to name a few things you were thankful for this fantasy season. These have been included with your power rankings and I have taken the liberty of including things I think you should be thankful for as well.
| 1. | Top Turkey | Tim (+2) is gobbling up wins as makes his way to the playoffs. His deflector shield has completely stuffed his opponents giving him the fewest points against in the league. Making the playoffs is easy as pie for Tim at this point and he has a good shot at taking the cake. What Tim says he is thankful for: I am thankful for Aaron Rodgers double checking himself and continues[sic] to be one of my top scorers
What he should be thankful for:
He should be thankful I ran out of Thanksgiving related puns when writing this power ranking |
| 2. | Homewrecker | Steve (0) faced Mikey in week 10 and won by the slimmest of margins. He earned a victory by 0.12 points due to home field advantage. In week 11, Steve put up a dismal 116.9 points and lost to Alison who is in second in his division. He is still holding onto first in Adam West but there are three teams only a game behind him. What Steve says he is thankful for: I'm thankful that god is dead and we killed him
He should be thankful for:
Fucking home field advantage |
| 3. | Touchie and Go | Things are getting dicey for Greg (-2) after his loss to Jimmy’s bwoken widdle fantasy team. He has a game lead on the first wild card but four teams are a game behind him.
What Greg says he is thankful for:
Thumbs. (Odell's thumbs, more specifically. As well as his other fingies.)
He should be thankful for:
Greg pretty much nailed it, thumbs are pretty great. |
| 4. | Wham Bam Thank You Cam | After starting the season 1-4, Brian (+3) has reversed his fortunes and won four out of his last five matchups. This is surge is enough to put him in a four way tie for the second wild card. He has two very important matchups coming up against Caitlin and Greg B.
What Brian is thankful for:
Cam Newton
He should be thankful for:
Everyone ahead of him in the standings knocking each other down a peg. |
| 5. | Buuuuuuuuuuuck Up | Alison (+1) beat Steve this week and pulled within a game of the division lead. She is amongst the four person clusterfuck that is the second wild card but her 5-2 division record should give her an advantage in escaping it. An easy matchup next week against Andrew will also help.
What Alison says she is thankful for:
I am thankful that this season is almost over...
She should be thankful for:
Being a game out of first in the division and tied for the wild card spot. |
| 6. | Stumbling Block | Kodz (-2) dropped his last three games and fell into a four way quagmire for the second wild card. Once a dominant force in the league, Kodz has proven himself very beatable. He put up a measley 106.2 points and lost to a Steelers-less Brian this week. If Greg continues to stumble he’ll soon be missing the playoffs.
What Greg is thankful for:
Apparently nothing, ungrateful bastard.
He should be thankful for:
Yahoo being kind enough to draft for him |
| 7. | Poké-Bawlin | Trainer Andrew wants to fight! Trainer Andrew sent out T.J. Shellder! Caitlin (-2) sent out Charizard West! Shellder used Growl, Charizard’s attack sharply fell! Charizard used Flamethrower… it’s not very effective. Shellder used Water Gun…Critical Hit!...It’s super-effective! Charizard fainted! Trainer Andrew wins the fight! Caitlin has no more useable Pokémon…Caitlin whited out!
What Caitlin says she is thankful for:
I'm thankful for my #1 waiver order and no one to pick up.
She should be thankful for:
Booze. Lots of booze. |
| 8. | Rawls Well That Ends Well | Jimmy (+2) got a fantastic week from Thomas Rawls helping him to a solid victory for the tuna-ing Dr. Dong Johnson. With two weeks left Jimmy has no shot at the playoffs but at least he’s ahead of last place for now.
What Jimmy says he is thankful for:
I'm thankful that online betting exists so I had a way to enjoy football this year.
He should be thankful for:
Mikey’s absentee approach to fantasy management |
| 9. | A Win is A Win | Andrew (-1) only managed an awful 112.5 points this week but that was enough to beat Caitlin’s squadron of invalid’s. Andrew nabbed his fourth win of the season and gained a solid two game lead on the Birdo candidate.
What Andrew says he is thankful for:
I'm thankful that I don't have to select ANY keepers from this shitshow if I so choose.
He should be thankful for:
His ability to sometimes turn opponents’ teams into flailing masses of ineptitude |
| 10. | Cooked Goose | Not much to say here, Mikey’s (-1) team still sucks.
What Mikey is thankful for:
His other fantasy league he’s actually doing well in
He should be thankful for:
The end of this season rapidly approaching |
