The Good...
| 1. | Do The Locomotion | Caitlin (0) rode the touchdown train, pulled by Julius Thomas the Tank Engine, to victory in week 1. She had a strong week despite bad games from Jamaal Charles and Frank Gore. Caitlin will be a serious force if those two have the games they are capable of. |
| 2. | Solid Start | Andrew (+3) had a really solid week all around. With the exception of Doug Martin, all of his players did well. His defense and kicker could use improvement but the rest of his offense more than made up for it. Andrew had no particular standouts this week but his well balanced attack gave him the victory easily. |
| 3. | Ice Gold | Alison (+5) had a great week from her QBs; Matty Ice was phenomenal and Luck was great as well. Demarco Murray and Shane Vereen were also good. She had a slow week from Demaryius Thomas who is capable of monster performances. If Ryan and Luck continue to play well and Thomas finds the ball more, Alison will be hard to beat. |
| 4. | Bell of the Ball | Despite an awful draft, Kodz (+6) had the best week in the league. Huge outbursts from Le’Veon Bell and A.J. Green coupled with decent performances from Bernard and Garcon led to Greg having the best score this week. Even though Rice was suspended indefinitely, Greg still has some good depth at RB. It’s his depth at WR that’s most impressive about Greg’s team. He had three receivers on his bench score more than 18 points, along with the 25 and 17 from Green and Garcon. As long as Greg’s QBs aren’t awful, his WRs and RBs should keep him in contention. |
...The Meh...
| 5. | Joyce’s Choices | Jimmy (-2) had a decent week. Brees and Dalton were solid at QB and Marshawn Lynch had a good game against the Packers. Vernon Davis and Donnie Avery also did well but Jimmy went and traded both of them to Greg Barasch. Martellus Bennet should make up for the loss of Davis and Jimmy has plenty of options for his third WR. |
| 6. | M&Ms | Manning, Marshall and Maclin led the field for Mikey’s (-2) Fightin’ Fittez and he got solid performances out of Sproles, Spiller, and Ball. Tom Brady had a disappointing week, as did Keenan Allen and Jordan Cameron. If these three improve, and Manning has the performance he is capable of, Mikey can have an enormous week. |
| 7. | Lion’s Share | Steve (0) got 65 points from Calvin Johnson and Matt Stafford…and lost. While those two had incredible games the rest of his team was atrocious. His first six players netted him a total of 53.2 points. Jay Cutler and Rashad Jennings actually performed well but he needs to get some production from the rest of his team if he wants to compete. |
| 8. | Wax Off | Brian (-2) Brian got a strong performance out of Antonio Brown, The Karate Kid. Kaepernick and the rest of Brian’s receiving core did well too but the rest was not too pretty. With Welker suspended for the first four games Brian was forced to use Reuben Randle as his flex and that did not go well at all. Ed Lacy had a tough week against Seattle and Reggie Bush didn’t do well either. The outlook is grim for next week with Lacy concussed and Welker still suspended. There is a ray of hope though, a new policy for drug testing could lead to Wes coming back early. |
...and The Ugly
| 9. | Wrong Team, Guys! | Greg (-7) had an awful week from his two starting quarterbacks along with poor performances from most of his team. Matt Forte and Jordy Nelson were the only real bright spots for Greg this week. However, he is already making moves to remedy the situation, trading away the question mark that is Victor Cruz in the Giants’ offense for the steady production of Vernon Davis. |
| 10. | Discount Double-suck | Tim (-1) had a tough start with Rodgers going up against the Seahawks. He got a terrible performance from his #2 back, Ben Tate, and his #1 didn’t do much better. Two bright spots for Tim were Carson Palmer and Cordarrelle Patterson. Michael Floyd also did well. Palmer and Floyd should do as well or better against the Giants next week and Rodgers should have an easier time against the Jets. With the bolstering at RB, Tim can move up the ranks next week. |
